Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has stated in an interview that the Russians are not interested in negotiating and stopping the war. He also stated that peace talks with Russia will be meaningless as long as Vladimir Putin is still the president, and besides, he is not interested in meeting with Vladimir Putin.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Speaking to Sky News, Zelensky stated that there have been no negotiations with Russia so far and said: "Kiev does not know who to negotiate with and about what."
Regarding talks to end the 10-month war, the president of Ukraine claimed that peace talks with Russia will be meaningless as long as Vladimir Putin is still the president.
He also claimed that the Russians do not want any negotiations and this situation existed before the war. At the same time, Zelensky said that he is not interested in meeting Putin.
The president of Ukraine believes that his country is not the first step for Putin and that he is looking to start a big war. Zelensky claimed that more steps will be taken after Ukraine, and if the stand against Russia fails, it will be the turn of other countries.
Regarding the sending of Western attack tanks to Ukraine, he stated: We need 300 to 500 tanks now. That's why I believe that these tanks should attack our territory and land.
Although grateful to Western countries, including Germany, England, and the United States, for agreeing to send tanks to Ukraine, Zelensky emphasized that the number of tanks and their delivery time, which sometimes takes months, are of particular importance compared to the decision to send them.
In the new round of their military aid to Ukraine, NATO member states announced that they will give Kyiv advanced weapons, including the German Leopard 2 tank, the British Challenger tank, and the American Abrams M1 tank.
Russia has warned about sending offensive weapons to Ukraine and has announced that this country will also use more capable weapons in the war.
