Sapling planting campaign started in Mazar-e-Sharif
The Sapling planting campaign started by Balkh province municipality in cooperation with the department of environment and agriculture of this province with the planting of saplings in the boulevard of Forty-Meter road of Ashiana blocks in the presence of local officials of Mazar-e-Sharif city.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Mazar-e-Sharif: On Monday (February 13), a sapling campaign was organized by the municipality of Balkh province in cooperation with the Department of Environment and Agriculture of this province, with the official planting of saplings in the boulevard of the Forty-Meter Road of Ashiana blocks in the presence of the local officials of the city.
 
Maulavi Abdul Hadi Abu Idris, the deputy governor of Balkh called the work of planting saplings as a human, Islamic and citizen duty of all people and said: the proper watering of trees has worldly and hereafter rewards and its reward and greenness includes the condition of all hardworking people.
 
According to him; Mazar-e-Sharif municipality is determined to plant 12 thousand saplings in the spring of 1402 only in the district of this province, the cost of which will be paid from the high budget of this department.
 
The mayor of Balkh province said: Planting one sapling by each countryman is according to the instructions of Mullah Hebatullah Akhundzada, who has allocated 19 million Afghanis for this purpose from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate.
 
Meanwhile, Maulavi Shamsullah Khalid, head of agriculture, irrigation and livestock of Balkh province, says: nearly 50 thousand saplings are planted in all the government offices of the districts and the center of the province by the Department of Agriculture.
 
He assured the creation of a monitoring team consisting of government departments to check the operation and irrigation of these saplings and asked all the people of Mazar-e-Sharif to work for the protection and maintenance of the trees.
 
In this regard, Maulavi Mohammad Mohammadi, the environmental protection officer of the city of Mazar-e-Sharif, called the planting of saplings a beauty of nature and said: its function is like an air purifier that produces oxygen free from any kind of diseases.
 
He added that all tradesmen and guilds are obliged to plant trees in the open environment of bathrooms, hotels, shops, markets and factories in order to add to the greenness of our country.
 
According to the Department of Environment of Balkh Province, in preparation for Nowruz Rose Festival, this department distributes 7,000 fruitful seedlings of almond and apricot trees throughout the city.
 
It should be mentioned that not long ago, 100 thousand saplings were planted on the road from Hairatan to Mazar-e-Sharif by donor organizations.
