Committee to Protect Journalists and Journalists Without Borders asked the Islamic Emirate authorities to identify and punish the perpetrators of the attack on Journalists at the Tebyan Culture Center in Mazar-e-Sharif.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA)_Monitoring, The Committee to Protect Journalists has described the incident as “a reminder of a painful situation” that targeted journalists. The committee has called on Islamic Emirate officials to take extra security measures and provide a safe environment for journalists.

The explosion occurred four days ago at the Tebyan Cultural Center during a journalists’ gathering for the award event in Balkh province; at least three people were killed, and 30 others, including 16 journalists, were wounded. ISIL claimed the responsibility for the attack, which resulted in the death and injury of scores of journalists.

“It is extremely shocking to see that journalists are targeted simply for being a journalist. We are demanding the governor of Balkh province to identify the perpetrators of the horrific attack at the soonest,” the statement Journalists without borders said.
