Turkey expelled 598 Afghan refugees
The General Directorate of Immigration of Turkey publishes a report on the deportation of 2 thousand and 18 illegal immigrants from this country in last one week. According to the report of this department, 598 of the expelled refugees are Afghans.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): The General Directorate of Immigration of Turkey announced in a statement on Saturday night that 2 thousand and 18 immigrants, whom it called "illegal", were expelled from this country in last one week.
 
The General Directorate of Immigration affiliated to the Ministry of Interior of Turkey announced that it has arrested 2,527 illegal immigrants throughout the country from 17 to 23 March.
 
According to this statement, 598 Afghans, 38 Pakistanis, and 1,382 others were from other countries whose names were not mentioned.
 
According to the report of this department, the total number of deported immigrants since the beginning of 2023 has reached 24 thousand 287 people.
 
The General Directorate of Immigration of Turkey announced in its report that last year it expelled about 124 thousand 441 immigrants from its country, which it called "illegal" immigrants.
 
According to this report, 68 thousand 290 Afghans, 12 thousand 511 Pakistanis, and the rest were from other countries whose names were not mentioned.
 
Turkey currently hosts 3.9 million illegal asylum seekers. Of these, 3.6 million tons are from Syria and another 320,000 tons are from Afghanistan and other countries.
