In this meeting, Haqqani suggested to the ambassador and special representative of the President of Iran that a joint Iranian-Afghan committee including representatives of the Afghan Ministry of Immigrant Affairs and the Ministry of Interior/Islamic Republic of Iran should be formed immediately after the holy month of Ramadan, and be in charge of following up on the status of immigrants and legal movements and the border illegality in the common borders so that the ambiguities of this area are resolved and the result is the improvement of the situation for the benefit of the parties. In response, the Iranian ambassador in Kabul welcomed the proposal of the Acting Minister of Immigrant Affairs to form a joint committee.
