Afghan Voice Agency(AVA)_Monitoring, The counter-narcotics department of Ghor province has arrested several people who have been allegedly accused of drug trafficking in the province. The accused individuals have been handed over to the judiciary organ for further investigations, the provincial police of the province said in a statement.
Islamic Emirate’s Ministry of Interior Affairs has already commenced the eradication campaign of poppy farmlands in certain provinces, as thousands of acres of poppy farmland have been destroyed by the counter-narcotic personnel of the Ministry of the Interior of the IEA across the country so far.
At the international level, Afghanistan’s drug dilemma has turned into a major challenge for regional countries and beyond. At the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) meeting held in Goa India, and the Summit on Afghanistan held in Doha Qatar in the past couple of days, participating envoys placed major importance on fighting drug trafficking emanating from Afghanistan.
