Despite Erdogan
According to the announcement of Turkey's election institutions, the counting of votes is still going on and the current president and leader of the Justice and Development Party, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, has still managed to maintain his lead, but the election has gone to the second round.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Anatoly quoted Ahmed Yener, head of Turkey's Supreme Election Council, as saying that the votes counted by the candidates until 2:45 a.m. on Monday, May 15, indicated that none of the candidates had won.

According to the statistics announced by Yener, Erdoğan is leading the election by getting 49.49 percent.

Yener says that Kemal Kilicdaroglu, the candidate of the opposition parties, is also in second place with 44.79 percent of the votes.

The head of Turkey's Supreme Election Council has announced the votes of Sinan Oghan with 5.29 percent and 0.43 percent for Muharram Ince.

According to the latest statistics announced by the Supreme Election Council of Turkey, the candidates have not received enough votes to win the presidential seat of Turkey.

If the end of the counting process of the election votes is accompanied by the current results and the candidates cannot get the necessary votes to win, the Turkish presidential election will go to the second round between the two leading candidates.

On the other hand, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan added in the gathering of his supporters: "We are ahead in this election by a large margin, we know that we are superior in this election, but we are waiting for the official results that show the national will."

He emphasized: Turkish people adhered to democracy through participation in voting centers, the winner of this election is our people and Turkey by adhering to the national will, participation in Turkish elections is unique in the world, and the highest participation rate in our political history is the Republican Party. The People's Party and some mayors tried to cast doubt on the results, but this does not change the fact.

Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated: Turkey has one of the best systems for elections and no one has the right to question it and the will of the voters should be respected. We expect all parties to show democratic maturity and today the people will make their decision. Whatever the result of the election, I thank the 56 million citizens of Turkey regardless of their choice.
