Guterres: Observance of gender equality is the requirement of a world without hunger
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has said that gender equality will increase access to food for all.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres tweeted yesterday (Saturday, June 3) that in order to reduce hunger in the world to zero, gender equality is "a must".

Mr. Guterres added that gender equality makes food more accessible to all.

The Secretary-General of the United Nations has emphasized that "when women and girls have better access to resources, decision-making and education, the result is increased food security not only for themselves, but also for their families and communities."

Meanwhile, according to the statistics of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Aid in Afghanistan (OCHA), more than 28.3 million people in Afghanistan need humanitarian aid, and about six million people are at risk of famine.
