In the meeting, Mawlavi Muti-ul -Haq Khalis, the head of ARCS, said people in Afghanistan are facing many problems, therefore, in this difficult situation, there is a serious need to support them properly.
This year, in addition to normal activities, our focus is on helping widows, and beggars, supporting and caring for mental patients, and treating children with heart defects, all of which cost a lot, he said.
He asked the countries and charity organizations of the world to help the Afghan Red Crescent in this difficult situation.
Several donors want to help us in many fields, but due to sanctions of the World Bank, they cannot send their aid directly to Afghanistan, which makes our work difficult, said Mawlavi Mati-ul- Haq Khalis.
We tried many times to solve this problem, but there was no positive result, he added.
In the meeting, Christine Cipolla, Regional Director of the International Committee of the Red Cross for Asia, said to attract enough aid to Afghanistan, we need to attract new donors, adding that they will intensify their efforts in this regard.
The ICRC focus on the countries of the Arab world to attract aid and turn them into the future donors of Afghanistan, therefore, there is a need for cooperation in this field, she added.
