Zhang Jun, China's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, has said that America and the West should remove unilateral sanctions against Afghanistan as soon as possible, and he has also called for Afghanistan to join regional economic and trade cooperation.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: "Zhang Jun", Permanent Representative of China to the United Nations, stressed the need for dialogue and interaction with Kabul, and said: Interacting with the interim government in Afghanistan with a practical attitude is the main way to increase mutual understanding and trust and addressing related concerns.

Referring to the numerous meetings of neighbors and countries in the region about Afghanistan, as well as the UN meeting hosted by Doha, he added: In general, the international community agrees on making Afghanistan peaceful, stable and prosperous, and hopes that through dialogue and interaction with the caretaker government of Afghanistan should be helped in solving the problems.

Referring to the budget plan requested by the United Nations to deal with the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan, he said that only 9% of the 3.2 billion dollar budget has been provided so far.

Zhang Jun stated: In order to promote dialogue and interaction, it is necessary for the sanctions committee of the Security Council to create a package of exemption arrangements for the international trips of officials of the caretaker government of Afghanistan. Sanctions imposed on officials of the Islamic Emirate by the UN Security Council should be adjusted or canceled in a timely manner according to the development of the situation.

Zhang also emphasized: In the long run, the international community should go beyond humanitarian aid and help Afghanistan integrate into regional economic and trade cooperation and step on the path of economic independence and sustainable development.

China's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, calling the amount of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan by developed countries unacceptable, emphasized that countries should not tie humanitarian aid to other issues.

He also asked for the immediate release of the seized assets of Afghanistan by the US, and pointed out that Washington should not delay this for various reasons and increase the suffering of the Afghan people.
