UN Secretary General: Stop using cluster bombs in Ukraine
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has said that the use of cluster bombs and munitions containing depleted uranium by the Ukrainian military must be stopped.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Izumi Nakamitsu, the Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations, said at the meeting of the United Nations Security Council regarding the supply of Western weapons to Ukraine: The Secretary General has repeatedly called for an immediate stop to the use of cluster bombs in accordance with the longstanding position.

He added: The use of these weapons should be obsolete and consigned to history.

He also expressed his deep concern about the transfer of ammunition containing depleted uranium to the Ukrainian forces.

Guterres' concern comes as four senior US officials told Reuters on Monday, speaking on condition of anonymity, that the White House is considering authorizing the transfer of the Army's ATACMS or GMLRS or both. has approached Ukraine.

On the other hand, Maria Zakharova, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, also said that the possible action of the United States to send long-range missiles with cluster munitions to Ukraine will only increase the tension and increase the casualties.

It should be noted that European and Western countries, especially the United States, by intensifying the pressure of sanctions against the Russian Federation and supplying all kinds of light and heavy weapons to Kiev, not only did not take a step towards ending the war in Ukraine, but also fueled the fire of conflicts in this country.
