Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: John Ilif, the regional director of the World Food Program, published a video tape on Ax saying that the living conditions of Afghan citizens are difficult and people have very few possibilities for shopping.
He noted: "The World Food Program is facing an unprecedented financial crisis.”We need one billion dollars to support 15 million people this winter."
According to Ilif, job opportunities are limited and foreign aid has become a vital resource for the people.
He stated: "The cash we distributed is a lifeline for these vulnerable families; because many rely on it.
The concern of the regional director of the World Food Program is formed while the United Nations World Food Program (WFP) recently announced that Afghanistan is currently one of the 10 countries in the world with more than one million people at the emergency level of hunger.
This organization said that Sudan, Afghanistan and the Republic of Congo are the three countries that have more people at the level of emergency hunger than most countries in the world.
