"Tehreek Insaf" coalition with two Shia and Sunni parties to form the government
After forming an alliance with the Shia party Majlis Wahdat al-Muslimin, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf announced that independent candidates supported by them will join the Sunni Unity Council to win the majority and form the government.

Ali Khan said in a joint press conference with Sahibzada Hamidreza, Chairman of the Sunni Unity Council and Raja Nasser Abbas, Secretary General of the Muslim Unity Council, that the independent candidates supported by the Tehreek-e-Insaf Party have submitted their applications to join the Sunni Unity Council.

According to Pakistan's election law, only 272 of the 342 members of Pakistan's parliament are elected by direct popular vote. In addition, 60 special seats for women and 10 special seats for non-Muslims in the National Assembly will be divided between the parties that won more than five percent of the votes in the elections, based on the proportion of their total votes.
 
The Tehreek-e-Insaf Party, which failed to participate in the elections as a political party, is now trying to create a political umbrella for its members in the National Assembly and also take over the share of special seats for women and religious minorities.
 
Ali Khan also claimed that Tehreek-e-Insaf has won 180 seats in the parliament and has won the majority in the states of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
 
Tehreek-e-Insaf's candidate Omar Ayub also announced that after the formation of the new government, the release of Imran Khan and his wife will be his first priority.
 
Meanwhile, the parties "People of Pakistan" and "Muslim League-Nawaz" also started a coalition to form the government last week, but they have not yet reached an agreement on the details of the coalition government.
