Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): The European Union announced in a statement published today (Monday), following the annexation of four new regions to Russia in 2022, that it will extend the sanctions against this country until February 24, 2025.
In this regard, Sputnik news agency reported that this decision will be implemented one day after the publication of this document.
According to this document, additional (sanction) measures may be taken and the measures taken may be extended.
According to ISNA, the referendum on the annexation of Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhia regions to Russia was held from September 23 to 27, 2022. Most voters welcomed the annexation of these regions to Russia. On September 30, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a memorandum of understanding with the heads of these regions.
