Officials in the Ministry of Industry and Trade say that in 1402, Afghanistan had trade exchanges with the Islamic Republic of Iran worth 2 billion and 25 million dollars. On the other hand, economic experts believe that Iran's Chabahar port is the closest and cheapest route for the import and export of Afghan merchant goods.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Abdulsalam Javad Akhundzadeh, the spokesman of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Islamic Emirate today (Saturday, March 30), in a conversation with an AVA reporter, said that the value of Afghanistan's exports and imports with the Islamic Republic of Iran last year was 2.25 billion. According to him, the trade exchange of Afghanistan with the Islamic Republic of Iran in 1402 was 33 million dollars in exports and 1 billion and 992 million dollars in imports.
 
The spokesman of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Islamic Emirate added that most of Afghanistan's major export items to the Islamic Republic of Iran were cotton, ingots, lead, sesame, cotton thread, raisins and mung beans.
 
According to Akhundzadeh, the main items of Afghanistan's import from the Islamic Republic of Iran in 1402 AH, are oil diesel, oil gasoline, liquid gas, cement, electricity, Roman eggplant and raw materials of industrial factories.
 
Regarding the importance of Iran's Chabahar Port for Afghanistan, this official of the Ministry of Industry and Trade added that most of the country's exports and imports currently take place through Chabahar Port.
 
At the same time, economic affairs experts believe that Iran's Chabahar port is the closest and cheapest route for the import and export of goods by Afghan traders.
 
In an interview with AVA reporter, Abdul Nasir Rashtiya, an expert on economic affairs, said about the importance of Iran's position in Afghanistan's trade exchanges: "There is no doubt that Iran is one of the countries that is called Afghanistan's strategic economic partner."
 
Abdul Nasir Rashtia noted that most of Afghanistan's commercial transactions take place through Chabahar port of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
 
According to him, every time Afghanistan faced a problem with Pakistan regarding transit, Chabahar port was the best alternative for Afghanistan.
 
He added that the Chabahar port of the Islamic Republic of Iran will save Afghanistan from being isolated and dependent on the transit route of Pakistan.
 
This economic affairs expert says that the leaders of Afghanistan, Iran and India have come to the conclusion that the use of Chabahar port will increase their trade.
 
According to Rashtia, Chabahar port is the closest and cheapest route for the import and export of goods by Afghan traders.
 
He considered increasing Afghanistan's strategic economic relations with Iran to the benefit of both countries and said that both sides should work to increase economic relations.
 
He mentioned the Islamic Republic of Iran as one of Afghanistan's friendly and neighboring countries and added that Afghanistan can have better trade exchanges with Iran.
 
The officials of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment say that Chabahar port has more advantages for the transfer of goods than the Wagh port of Karachi.
 
According to them, along with the provision of many facilities by Iran, the transfer of goods from this commercial port is cheaper and has more security.
 
The Chamber of Commerce and Investment adds that advanced facilities have been built in Chabahar, which have provided many facilities for the transfer of goods.
 
Some time ago, during a ceremony, the implementation of the construction of a 25-story residential, commercial and hotel tower in Chabahar Azad Zone by the economic and technical delegation of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan together with Hassan Kazemi Qomi, the special representative of the presidency and the ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Kabul and Seyed Vahidullah Habibi, deputy of Tebian's cultural and social activities center, officially started. This project is managed by Hafizullah Soltani, the manager of Setargan Mohajer Khorasan Company.
 
It should be mentioned that Afghanistan imports most of the goods it needs from other countries, and the common borders with Iran are one of the main transit routes of goods to the country.
