Officials in the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Islamic Emirate say that this ministry, in cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran, has provided land and a free trade zone for Afghan businessmen in Chabahar port.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Abdulsalam Javad Akhundzadeh, the spokesman of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Islamic Emirate, said today (Monday, April 22) in an interview with an AVA reporter that the Chabahar port of the Islamic Republic of Iran is one of the important trade and transit routes for Afghanistan.

Abdulsalam Javad Akhundzadeh adds that the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Islamic Emirate in cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran has provided special facilities for Afghan businessmen.

He says that with the provision of land and a free zone for trade, the commercial properties of Afghan businessmen are protected in Chabahar port.

According to the spokesman of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Islamic Emirate, most of Afghanistan's exports and imports take place from Bandar Chabahar and Bandar Abbas.

He added that Afghanistan's export and import with Iran during the year 1402 was worth 2 billion and 25 million dollars.

Akhundzadeh added that 33 million dollars are exports and 1 billion and 92 million dollars are imports.

According to his words, most of Afghanistan's major export items to the Islamic Republic of Iran last year were cotton, lead ingots, sesame, cotton thread, raisins and mung beans.

The spokesperson of the Ministry of Industry and Trade adds that Afghanistan's main imported items from Iran in 1402 were oil diesel, oil petrol, liquefied gas, cement, electricity, Roman eggplant and raw materials of industrial factories.

Before this, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Islamic Emirate had announced that this ministry emphasizes on better use of Chabahar port as an alternative way of Afghanistan's trade.

Economic affairs experts believe that Iran's Chabahar port is the closest and cheapest route for the import and export of Afghan businessmen's goods.

On the other hand, the officials of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment say that Chabahar port has more advantages for the transfer of goods than the Wagh port of Karachi.

According to them, besides providing many facilities from Iran, the transfer of goods from this commercial port is cheaper and has more security.

The Chamber of Commerce and Investment adds that an advanced facility has been built in Chabahar, which has provided many facilities for the transfer of goods.
