The emir of Kuwait dissolved the parliament of this country
About six weeks after the election, Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, the Emir of Kuwait, dissolved the country's parliament and announced the suspension of the implementation of some provisions of the constitution for four years.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: Almost six weeks after the parliamentary elections, the Emir of Kuwait dissolved the parliament of this Persian Gulf country and announced that he has suspended the implementation of some provisions of the constitution for four years.

Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, in a televised speech on Friday evening (May 10), identified the reason for this decision as the "interference" of some members of parliament in the authority of the emir and "the chaotic state of politics", which he said could no longer be tolerated.

According to Kuwait State Television (KUNA), with this decision, the powers of the Kuwaiti Parliament will be the responsibility of Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and the Cabinet of Ministers.

According to Deutsche Welle, during the past months and years, the Kuwaiti parliament was dissolved several times due to disputes over the formation of the government.

Kuwait's parliamentary elections were held on 16th of this year. But after the formation of the new parliament, some representatives refused to participate in the government. Meanwhile, according to the Kuwaiti constitution, at least one member of parliament must hold the position of minister until the formation of the government.

Kuwait, which has a population of 4.5 million people, is mainly in the hands of the Sabah ruling family. In 1962, it was the first Arab country to introduce a parliamentary system. Kuwaiti women did not have the right to vote and run in elections until 2005.
