UN Personnel Killed, Wounded in Israeli Shelling of Rafah, Khan Yunis

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Monitoring: According to sources, a UN employee was killed near the European hospital East of ‘Khan Yunis city, in the Southern Strip, as acknowledged by official Israeli media outlets, WAFA news agency reported.
In addition, a Palestinian driver was killed and a staff member of the World Health Organization (WHO) was injured in Israeli shelling targeting the Eastern part of Rafah to the South.
Medical sources also reported the wounding of two UN workers, including one critically, at the Rafah crossing in the Southern Gaza Strip.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Monday condemned all attacks on United Nations personnel and called for a full investigation into the killing of a staff member in the Gaza Strip.
"The Secretary-General was deeply saddened to learn of the death of a United Nations Department of Safety and Security (DSS) staff member and injury to another DSS staffer when their UN vehicle was struck as they traveled to the European Hospital in Rafah this morning," UN Deputy Spokesman Farhan Haq said at a news conference.
Guterres condemns all attacks against UN personnel and called for a full investigation into the incident, according to Haq.
Noting that the situation in Gaza affects not only civilians but also humanitarian workers, Haq said the UN chief reiterated demands for an urgent humanitarian cease-fire and the release of hostages held in Gaza.
The death toll of the Israeli aggression on the Strip since October 7 has risen to 35,173. Over 79,000 people were wounded.
Ambulance and rescue teams have continuously reported their inability to reach thousands of victims who are still trapped under the rubble or scattered on roads./Fars
