Acting Minister of Information and Culture and UN Top Official Discuss   Media Issues in Afghanistan
In a high level meeting with Markus Potzel, the UN Deputy Special Representative for Afghanistan, Acting Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaj Mullah Khairullah Khairkhwa, stated that the Commission for the Review of Media Violations and Issues is dedicated to addressing the problems and challenges faced by journalists.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Monitoring: During the meeting, both sides discussed the current situation in Afghanistan, including the status of journalists, access to information, humanitarian aid, the significance of continued engagement, and other pertinent issues.
Potzel remarked that recently, the environment for journalists in Afghanistan has become more favorable, and that journalists are now content and satisfied with their current circumstances.
Alhaj Mullah Khairullah Khairkhwa also mentioned that the Commission for the Review of Media Violations and Issues thoroughly assesses the concerns and grievances of journalists. Moreover, journalists are courteously informed about the procedures of the Islamic Emirate through this commission.
Additionally, he reiterated that the Islamic Emirate has fulfilled and continues to honor its promises in the areas of reconstruction and providing facilities to the people.
