Thomas West, the U.S. Special Representative for Afghanistan, has reported his meeting with high-ranking officials of the Food and Agriculture Organization and the Food Authority in Afghanistan.
The UN’s Food and Agriculture Organization deputy director met with the Islamic Emirate’s deputy foreign minister Sher Mohammad Abbas Stanekzai for discussions on food security related issues.
Representatives of countries including Russia, UK, Pakistan, India, Qatar and Switzerland at the UN Security Council High-Level Open Debate on Famine and Conflict-Induced Global Food Security in New York pointed out the humanitarian situation of Afghanistan.
