Ghani orders IDLG to resolve tensions between Durand Line tribes
President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani has instructed the Independent Directorate of the Local Governance (IDLG) to take steps in order to resolve the tensions between the tribes located on two sides of Durand Line after the recent clash in Zazai Maidan district of Khost.
Deputy presidential spokesperson Durani Waziri said President Ghani has instructed the head of the Independent Directorate of the local governance to send a tribal delegation for the talks with the tribesmen on the other side of the Durand Line.
He issued the latest order after meeting with the members of local council of the southeastern zone and elders and youths of Zazai Maidan of Khost.
This comes as several people including Pakistani soldiers were killed or wounded during a clash in Zazai Maidan of Khost near the Durand Line around two weeks ago.
The provincial government media office of Khost in a statement had earlier said that the Pakistani militia forces launched attacks on security posts in Jando Sar and Bad Khawaran areas of Zazai Maidan district at around 8 am on Sunday.
The statement further added that the local residents and security personnel responded to Pakistani militia forces fire, claiming that some dead bodies of Pakistani military forces and their weapons were left in the area.
The source also added that two local residents fighting the militia forces also lost their lives during the clash.
