New NATO Commander vows all-out support to Afghan armed forces
The new Commander of the NATO-led Resolute Support Mission and the U.S. forces in Afghanistan Gen. Scott Miller has vowed all-out support to the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces.

The Office of the President, ARG Palace, said Gen. Miller reaffirmed the alliance’s support to the Afghan armed forces during a meeting with President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani.
According to a statement released by ARG Palace, the meeting took place in the Presidential Palace on Sunday evening.
The statement further added that President Ghani congratulated Gen. Miller for his new duty and thanked him for accepting the new responsibility as he wished him success in his work.
The two sides discussed the priorities of the Afghan armed forces, the U.S. strategy for South Asia and and its positive outcome, ARG Palace said.
In his turn, Gen. Miller thanked President Ghani and reaffirmed all-out support to further strengthen the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces.
Gen. Miller on Sunday took over the responsibility of the NATO-led Resolute Support Mission and the command of the U.S. forces in Afghanistan from General John Nicholson.
