Five security personnel of the Special Force Unit of the National Directorate of Security (NDS) have been arrested over beating and torturing cameraman of private television in northwestern Faryab province, an official said on Friday.

Gen. Najibullah Najib, NDS director for Fayab, said the five security personnel allegedly accused of beating the Aena Television cameraman were being interrogated and assured that the accused would be punished in line with the law.
Najib told Pajhwok Afghan News cases of alleged individuals were have been registered.
The Afghanistan National Journalist Union (ANJU) and Journalist Association of Faryab, hailed the reaction of NDS director after the incident.
Mohammad Ayub Amini, the Aena Television cameraman, said five security personnel of the NDS abused and beaten him in front of his office.
