Afghan peace council
Afghanistan High Peace Council's provincial committees have been temporarily suspended for reforms, a spokesman for the council said Tuesday.

“Afghan peace process is at critical juncture and we are heading toward negotiations. It is essential that we change peace policies by bringing reforms and restart working in provinces with stronger plans,” said Syed Ihsan Taheri, a spokesman for HPC.
According to Taheri, the suspension of HPC’s provincial committees will be for three to four months.
Afghan government recently formed an advisory board for peace. President Ashraf Ghani has assured that the board would not act as a parallel body to HPC.
The suspension of HPC’s provincial committees has been signed by the president’s special representative on regional affairs for peace consensus, Mohammad Omar Daudzai, who is also head of HPC secretariat.
