At least 97 Taliban were killed in ongoing operations by Afghan forces along with Resolute Support’s air support in southern Kandahar province, security officials said on Monday.

The operation was launched in Shah Wali Kot district of the province on December 26 and is ongoing, according to officials.
In the meantime, Resolute Support also confirmed the news and said that “17 roadside bombs were defused, and 80 pounds of homemade explosives were destroyed".
However, officials did not provide further details about the operation.
Taliban have not commented over the claims.
