Large convoy of Afghan troops arrive in Sherin Tagab after heavy clashes with Taliban
A large convoy of Afghan troops arrived in Sherin Tagab district of Faryab province after heavy clashes with the Taliban en-route to to the district that left at least 20 militants dead.

The 209th Shaheen Corps of the Afghan Military in the North in a statement said a large convoy of Afghan troops carrying supplies left Maimana city early Wednesday morning and arrived in Sherin Tagab district at 6pm after breaking several ambushes of the militants.
The statement further added at least 20 Taliban militants were killed during the clashes and airstrikes and 13 others sustained injuries.
The Afghan forces also discovered and defused at least 15 improvised explosive devices planted by the militants along the highway, the 209th Shaheen Corps added in its statement.
Faryab is among the relatively provinces in North of Afghanistan where Taliban are actively operating in some of its districts and often attempt to attack government and security institutions and forces.
