Pakistan Wants ‘Responsible’ Troop Withdrawal In Afghanistan
Amid reports about "agreement in draft" between the US and Taliban on the foreign forces pullout from Afghanistan, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that as an important stakeholder in the Afghan peace process, Pakistan wants a “responsible” withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan.
Addressing a press conference with his German counterpart Heiko Maas on Tuesday, Qureshi said Pakistan had been saying for long that Afghan issue could only be resolved through dialogue. “We are glad that now the world was acknowledging our version,” Qureshi added.

He said a responsible withdrawal of troops would be in the better interest of Pakistan as well as the regional countries.

The German Foreign Minister said terrorism is a global challenge.

“Pakistan is playing an important role in Afghanistan, being a responsible regional country also, we think that Afghan government has to be part of the process for a sustainable peace in the region,” he added.

“We feel that inclusion of Afghan government in every table talk is imperative,” he added.
