Kabul summons Pakistani Chargé d’affaires over civilian casualties in recent cross-border shelling
Pakistan’s Chargé d’affaires in the Embassy of Pakistan in Kabul was summoned to Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan over recently cross-border shelling which inflicted casualties on Afghan civilians in South-eastern Khost province.
AVA- “Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan summoned the Chargé d’affaires of the Pakistani embassy in Kabul and condemned the attack on the two countries’ soldiers. Explaining the immediate measures of Afghanistan’s Security Forces against anti-government elements active on both sides of the Durand line, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan also condemned Pakistani forces’ violation of Afghanistan Airspace and launching rockets that caused material and bodily harm,” Sibghatullah Ahmadi, a spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
Ahmadi further added that “Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, once again encouraged Pakistan to honestly fight these groups without distinction, observe the principles of good neighbourliness and trust building, and engage in result-oriented cooperation mechanisms.”
Security officials in South-eastern Khost province said Thursday that 4 civilians were killed and 5 others were wounded as a result of cross-border shelling on certain areas located close to Durand Line on Wednesday night.
The officials further added that 20 residential houses and as many vehicles were also damaged in the latest shelling.
