Taliban to discuss ceasefire after foreign troops announce withdrawal from Afghanistan: spokesman
Taliban will discuss ceasefire after foreign troops announce withdrawal from Afghanistan, the group's spokesman said on Monday.

Suhail Shaheen said this after being asked by 1TV’s Sajjad Mohammadi if the Taliban would announce truce at the ongoing intra-Afghan dialogue conference in Doha which is expected to end today.
Shaheen said that the Taliban would enter intra-Afghan negotiations after foreign troops announce withdrawal from Afghanistan. He said that ceasefire will be discussed in those negotiations.
“We want foreign troops to exit Afghanistan, we want an Islamic system in the country where all Afghans are represented, we want a peaceful country, we want all Afghans focus on rebuilding the country,” Shaheen said when asked what were the group’s main goals.
The Taliban have held seven rounds of talks with the United States since September last year, but violence continues.
On the first day of intra-Afghan conference on Sunday, a Taliban car bomb killed 12 and wounded 179 people in Ghazni province.
