The 23-year-old IS-K fighter handed himself over to Afghan Border Forces in Haska Mina district of Nangarhar province, provincial governor’s office said in a statement.
The statement noted that the fighter confessed that Abdul Ahmad Irani, one of the leaders of IS-K recruited him to IS-K ranks in Nangarhar.
However, he said he decided to abandon the group after he realized that the group’s activities are against all principles and regulations of Islam.
This comes as Nangarhar provincial governor’s office on Saturday said that at least 10 IS-K terrorists related to Khorasan branch of the group have been killed in Nangarhar province.
