Fifteen Afghan civilians killed or wounded in Herat airstrike: rights group
Fifteen civilians were killed or wounded in an airstrike in Afghanistan's western Herat province on January 8, a leading Afghan human rights group said on Tuesday.

The drone strike in Shindand district killed also leader of a Taliban splinter faction in the area, Mullah Mohammad Nangyalai.
Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission said that its investigation showed that 15 civilian casualties were caused in the strike.
Three children and three women were among those killed. Two children were also among those injured, AIHRC said in a statement.
The statement said that inflicting harm to civilians is prohibited in international laws, and called on parties to the conflict to protect civilians from harm.
It also called on relevant authorities to investigate the strike and pay compensation to victim families.
