North Korea tested another ballistic missile
South Korean officials say Pyongyang has fired one or more ballistic missiles.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA), The South Korean military announced on Sunday that North Korea fired at least one ballistic missile into its east coast waters.

"North Korea has fired one or more unidentified ballistic missiles into the East Sea," Japanese officials said.

According to AFP, today Pyongyang's launch of the missile is the 18th demonstration of the country in 2022, following the order of North Korean President Kim Jong Un to lift the voluntary ban on missile and nuclear tests.

The news comes as the South Korean and US army announced a joint exercise this week in international waters near Okinawa.

The purpose of the three-day exercise was to prepare for the North Korean threat, according to the Yon hap news agency in Seoul.

The US Navy has also deployed the USS Ronald Reagan nuclear aircraft carrier, the USS Antietam cruiser and some of its well-equipped ships to participate in the exercise.

During the exercise, South Korean and US forces conducted counterterrorism, anti-submarine, logistical and naval deterrence operations.
