Tens of thousands of Afghan immigrants in Iran have returned to the country through Islam Qala border
Officials at the Directorate of Immigrants and Returnees Affairs in Herat say that over the past year, about 40,000 people have entered the country legally and 299,000 people have entered the country without legal documents through Islam Qala, Herat.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Herat: Mawlavi Abdul Ghafoor Jalali, financial and administrative director of Herat's Directorate of Immigrant Affairs, says that over the past year, about 40 thousand people with legal documents and about 299 thousand people without legal documents have left Islam Qala border.
 
He further added: During this period, about 200 thousand people have crossed the border, and the Department of Immigrants and Returnees Affairs has provided them with the necessary facilities in camps and other areas in cooperation with institutions.
 
The financial and administrative director of the Herat Immigration Department also said: Since the Islamic Emirate ruled the country, this department has provided cash and food aid to thousands of poor and deserving families with the cooperation of institutions.
 
According to him, currently there are about 200,000 internal returnees in Herat province, and it is necessary for partner institutions to pay special attention to this sector.
 
At the same time, other officials in this department announced their efforts to improve the situation of immigrants and emphasized that the program of returning immigrants to their original areas is continuing.
 
Herat is one of the provinces that, due to the changes in the past years, has accommodated many immigrants from different provinces, some of them are in a bad economic situation, to the point where some families have to go to They have started selling children and even their pollen, which has caused many reactions.
