Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Uzbek officials say that the construction of the first phase of the Afghanistan-Uzbekistan common market on the border line between the two countries has been completed and the distribution of shops for the traders of both countries has begun.
The officials of this common market say that the remaining work of this market will be completed in another year.
Qut Jore Youf, the deputy of the Afghan-Uzbek joint market, told Ariana News: This project was created to expand business relations and create jobs for Afghans and the people of Uzbekistan. In this market, along with Uzbek traders, Afghan traders and entrepreneurs can also sell their work and activities.
Mr. Jore Youf said: More than four thousand shops, health centers, restaurants and guest houses will be built in this market. Afghan citizens can shop in this market for ten days without receiving a visa.
However, the officials of the Balkh Chamber of Commerce and Investment and traders say that the creation of this market can provide a basis for showcasing the country's domestic products and expanding the economic activities of traders.
Asadullah Asadi, head of the Balkh Chamber of Commerce and Investment, said: As a country that is on the threshold of economic growth, the demand of Afghans is to create facilities and charge less rent so that they can get better provisions at first.
Haji Qalandar, one of the country's businessmen, also said: If the common market is activated and our businessmen and businessmen open shops there, build agencies and our handicrafts and national products go there, it will be a very good market for us.
