40 Afghan prisoners were released by Pakistan
Forty Afghans imprisoned in Pakistan’s Sindh province, including five families, were released from a prison by the order of the Karachi Court of Appeal.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA)_Monitoring, Afghanistan’s Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation, said Tuesday these Afghans will soon return home.

A further 160 Afghans are also expected to be released from Pakistan’s Landi and Peche prisons in the next few days, the ministry said in a statement.

According to Pakistani authorities, the refugees will be transferred to Spin Boldak crossing and handed over to the Kandahar Refugee and Repatriation department.

The IEA has in the past month secured the release of hundreds of Afghan refugees from Pakistan prisons after they were detained for not having legal documents.
