Officials in the Balkh Department of Information and Culture say that nearly 60 foreign tourists have visited this province in the past month, which shows an increase in their presence compared to last year.

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Abdul Wahid Vahdi, the tourism director of the Balkh Department of Information and Culture, told AVA today (Sunday, April 30, 2023) that the provision of security has caused foreign tourists to travel extensively to Balkh and to visit the historical lakes and tourist sites.
He added that 200 foreign tourists had traveled to Balkh during the year 1401 AH, but this year, 56 people from China, America, Germany, France, Russia, Austria, Malaysia and Poland have come to Balkh.
Vahidi said that foreign tourists mostly visit Balkh and Roza Sharif districts of Mazar-e-Sharif and go to other districts with tourist attractions.
Balkh Cultural Information Tourism Director stated that in addition to foreign tourists, thousands of people from different provinces of the country have also traveled to Balkh in the last month.
Balkh has more than 120 water bodies and ancient monuments. This province is considered to be the first capital of ancient Ariana, which is more than five thousand years old. Historical relics and monuments of different eras still exist in this province and foreign tourists come from thousands of kilometers away to visit Balkh.
Also, the presence of natural attractions, springs and green areas have also attracted foreign and domestic tourists to this province.
