Chromite mining work started in Khost province
The Directorate of Mines and Petroleum of the Islamic Emirate in Khost province says that the mining of chromite has started in Tani district of this province.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Mohammad Sadiq Hamzah, the head of mines and petroleum in this province, said in a conversation with the media that the work of extracting the Verzheli mine in Tani district has been entrusted to a domestic private company in a five-year contract.
 
He added that during this period, 21,000 tons of chromite ore will be extracted.
 
According to him, from this understanding, 215 million Afghanis will be deposited into the government treasury.
 
Mohammad Sadiq Hamzah, head of mines and petroleum of Khost province, says: "One ton of it (chromite) has been set at 10,000 afghanis, and a total of 21,500 tons of chromite will be extracted from this mine in the course of five years, and the revenue will be 215 million afghanis." Will be achieved."
 
Earlier, the officials of the Ministry of Mines had announced that the survey work of 650 mines has been completed and they are going to be handed over to local and foreign companies for extraction.
 
At the same time, the officials of Nefrait Sharq Company say that before in most of the province, mines were extracted in a non-standard and illegal way and the proceeds went to the pockets of individuals, but according to the officials of this company, the mining process has now become legal and through the free tendering process in Companies are allowed to do so.
 
Abdul Latif Vahedi, the process manager of Nefrait Sharq Company, says that: "These contracts are now given to the companies in a transparent manner, and you can see that now every mine in different provinces is extracted in a standard manner, and with this, on the one hand, the government's income will increase, and on the other hand, On the other hand, the field of work is provided."
 
Local officials of Khost Province say that in the coming days people will witness the opening of two more mines.
