Gunmen in Nigeria killed 24 people, including children
Armed men in northern Nigeria attacked two villages in this country and shot at least 24 people, including children.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): According to eight morning and based on the Reuters report, this incident took place on Saturday, June 3, in the villages of Janbaku and Sakida in the northwest of Zamfara state.

According to this report, the armed men also kidnapped several children who were collecting firewood in a forest in the neighboring village.

Two local residents told the media that the armed men had asked the villagers to pay a fee, but the villagers did not do so.

Yazid Abubakar, spokesperson of the Zamfara state police, said that 13 people were killed and 9 young boys and girls were kidnapped following this incident.

But local residents say that during the attack of armed men, 25 people were killed and the houses of some residents were also set on fire.

Many such attacks go unreported in remote areas of Nigeria; because the security forces often respond late to people's calls.

Nigeria, a country in West Africa with more than 220 million people, has been involved in internal armed violence for years.

Statistics show that armed militias in this country have killed more than 2,600 people in 2021, which has seen a jump of 250% compared to 2020.

Due to the weakness of the central government in dealing with these groups, this African country is witnessing the escalation of increasing violence in different parts of Nigeria.
