EU members have signed an agreement to revise immigration rules
The ministers of interior affairs of 27 member states of the European Union signed an agreement based on which the asylum laws in this union are to be revised.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): After 12 hours of negotiations, the ministers of interior affairs of the European Union countries reached an agreement to obtain the consent of Italy and Greece, "the two primary destinations of migrants", to revise the asylum laws of this union.

The purpose of this agreement is to revise the asylum laws, which were criticized by many members of the union after 2015 and the arrival of about one million immigrants in the union.

EU Home Affairs Commissioner Ylva Johansson said: "This is a big and important achievement that shows we can work together on migration. When we work together, we become much stronger."

Although Italy and Greece, which are considered as the primary destination of immigrants, have opposed this plan, but this plan has finally been accepted.

However, last-minute changes, including a reduction in the number of people each country will be responsible for and looser rules for returning people to countries outside the EU, pave the way for the deal to be finalized ahead of EU elections in 2024.

According to the new agreement, each country will be responsible for a certain number of people, but not obliged to accept them.

In the new plan, countries that do not want to accept illegal immigrants and refugees can help other member states through equipment, personnel or cash (around 20 thousand euros) per person.

These new reforms will deny those who have applied for asylum and will not be allowed to stay for a long time in the European Union.

Although Poland and Hungary protested the deal and said that union leaders should reconsider the issue at the end of June, the majority of members did not accept this protest.

Meanwhile, Hungarian government spokesman Zoltan Kovac quoted Prime Minister Viktor Orban as saying that the deal was "unacceptable".

"Brussels is abusing its power," Kovac wrote on Twitter. They want to forcibly transfer the immigrants to Hungary. This is unacceptable. They want to turn Hungary into a country of immigrants by force."

The countries of the European Union prevent the process of immigration to this Union, while thousands of people have lost their lives on the way to the Union in recent years. Also, the process of settling refugees in EU countries after the war in Ukraine has been said to be discriminatory.
