Nine soldiers were killed and wounded in an attack by armed people on a military base in Pakistan
Armed militants using rifles, grenades and rockets attacked a military base in southern Pakistan on Wednesday, killing at least four soldiers and wounding five others, Pakistani security forces said.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): The Pakistan Army announced in a statement that four soldiers were killed and five others were seriously injured in this attack.
 
This report states that at least three attackers were also killed in retaliatory firing and an operation is underway to arrest two more attackers.
 
According to Euro News, according to Pakistani army sources, several attackers attacked a military base in the Jhob region of Balochistan in the early hours.
 
Three security sources said that the militants clashed for several hours after throwing hand grenades. Stating that the initial attempt by the terrorists to sneak into the facility was thwarted by the soldiers, the army added: "Following a heavy exchange of fire, the terrorists were contained in a small area on the border."
 
A newly formed Islamist group called Tehreek-e-Jihad Pakistan has claimed responsibility for the attack and has announced in a statement that it will release images and videos of its fighters who participated in the attack.
