Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Aid (OCHA) announced in a newsletter that the people of Afghanistan are facing the risk of starvation, disease and even death due to the reduction of 1.3 billion dollars in humanitarian aid from this organization. .
This organization said in a report that it is facing a lack of funds, and as a result, the beneficiaries of aid in Afghanistan have decreased from 13 million tons to 9 million tons.
OCHA added that due to the lowering of the budget ceiling, only 5 million of the 9 million vulnerable Afghans are now receiving aid.
Besides this, about 262 mobile health centers that were working in the health sector for two million Afghans have also been forced to stop providing services.
Also, this organization warns that if additional funds are not received, 2,800 local schools will be closed by the end of August, in which about 141,000 people are engaged in training.
According to the report, this institution received only 801 million dollars in funding this year, which provides about 25% of the needs.
