The fall of the value of the dollar against the Afghani currency!
The exchange markets of the country have announced the increasing value of the Afghani currency against foreign currencies. They say that in the last week, the value of the Afghani against the dollar has increased by nearly 6%.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: One American dollar will be bought and sold for 80.4 afghanis in the exchange markets of the country today, Sunday (August 28, 2023). While last week it was exchanged for 84.4 afghanis.

Following this increase in value; Shahzadeh exchange market officials stated in an interview with AVA reporter that considering the government's policies, the value of Afghani against foreign currencies increases every hour.

Haji Zirak, the spokesperson of Shahzade exchange market, said: "Besides providing security; some other reasons have contributed to the hourly increase in the value of the Afghani against all foreign currencies.

He started the coal mining again and imposed a tax of 15 dollars on each ton; He mentioned the use of Afghani instead of Kaldar and Toman in all provinces and the transfer of Afghani from the center to the provinces, as well as the policy of the Central Bank in controlling the markets in a timely manner as the reasons for the increase in the value of the Afghani.

Zirak, however, asked the government officials that in addition to lowering the value of foreign currencies, they should also pay serious attention to lowering the price of food items and controlling the market so that this will bring happiness to the people.

At the same time, Haseeb Noori, the spokesperson of Central Bank, told AVA reporter that they have been able to maintain and even increase the value of Afghani currency against foreign currencies by adopting reasonable monetary policies.

He added that in the past year, the value of the Afghan currency against the US dollar has increased by more than 12%, which has increased by more than 6% in the last week.

Based on Noori's statements; preventing dollar smuggling, dollar auctions and transactions with Afghan money are among the policies that this bank has undertaken. Also, the increase in the country's exports contributes to the increase in the value of the country's currency.

He emphasized that if the foreign currency reserves of the Central Bank are released by the United States and the government of the Islamic Emirate is recognized; The value of Afghani will increase more than this.

Nevertheless, economic experts say that the increasing value of the Afghani against foreign currencies is caused by factors such as increasing demand for Afghan exports, attracting foreign investment, or reducing inflation and liquidity.

Mohammad Nabi Afghan, an economic expert, told AVA reporter that during the last two years, the record of the export of Afghan goods has been broken and for the first time more than two billion dollars’ worth of goods have been exported in one year.

He added that this can have a positive effect on the value of the country's currency.

Afghan also added that, on the other hand, undertaking large infrastructure projects such as the Qoshtapa canal and extracting a number of mines in the country can also contribute to increasing the value of the Afghani due to job creation.

Shokrullah Ahmadi, another economic affairs expert, in a conversation with AVA reporter; But he attributed the increase in the value of the Afghani to political issues and said that the decrease in the value of the dollar against the Afghani was due to "depositing foreign aid into dollars", "the US agreement with Qatar regarding Afghanistan", "auction of dollars by Da Afghanistan Bank" and "prevention It depends on the smuggling of dollars.

Based on Ahmadi's statements; The improvement of the political situation of the emirate and the green light of the world to the government is the most important factor in the decline in the value of the dollar against the Afghani.

But he is concerned that this reduction will be temporary because the stability of Afghanistan, while the country's economy is heading towards recession, is extremely dependent on the level of dollar deposits from foreigners.

Nevertheless, the citizens of the country say that despite the drop of more than ten percent in the value of the dollar against the dollar in the past month; but the price of raw materials has not decreased.

They want the government to act seriously in controlling the prices and not allow some traders to continue their abuse.
