Lavrov accused the West and NATO of provocative exercises against Russia
In a speech at the United Nations General Assembly, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov accused the West and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) of provocative exercises against Russia.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Sergey Lavrov said in his speech at the United Nations General Assembly on Saturday: The exercises of the United States and its European allies in NATO, including the use of nuclear weapons on Russian territory, have been unprecedented since the Cold War.

In his speech, Lavrov called the West a lying empire and said: Basically, America and European powers are used to not fulfilling their commitments.

He added: In general, it can be said that the American and NATO exercises are conducted with the aim of putting pressure on Russia, and reaching this point has blinded the eyes of Western politicians.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia clarified: In 2021, Russia's proposals for mutual security guarantees in Europe were rejected without changing the situation of Ukraine, because their aim was to equip the Kiev regime and launch a proxy war against Russia.

He said: "For the past years, NATO has guaranteed Russia not to expand its forces in Eastern European countries, but none of these promises have been fulfilled, and instead, the goal is for Russia to suffer a strategic defeat."
