The physical infrastructure of CASA-1000 includes: 500 kV high voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission system between Tajikistan and Pakistan through Afghanistan, a transmission link from Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan to connect to the transmission line from Tajikistan to South Asia and construction of power substations. It is required in Kabul (Afghanistan), Peshawar (Pakistan) and Sangtuda (Tajikistan).
