Acting Minister of Economy of Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, during a meeting with Roza Otunbayeva, Special Representative and Chief Secretary of the United Nations for Afghanistan, discussed several topics, including strategies for gradually reducing poverty and unemployment in the country.

The Acting Economy Minister emphasized that the United Nations should prioritize humanitarian projects for those in need, hunger-relief programs, encouraging and supporting small and medium-sized businesses, domestic production in agriculture, finance, and horticulture, and technical and vocational education.
The OCHA representative promised a development strategy for the coming year, with a particular focus on job-creation projects and programs in other sectors.
