The United Nations in the service of the superpowers?
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Today's view: The United Nations, contrary to its name, is never an authoritative global authority independent of the will of its constituent superpowers; rather, it is an organization in the service of the domination system. Over the years, the Security Council of this organization has always been a powerful lever in the hands of arrogant and colonial powers to impose their extra-legal rule on oppressed nations and independent countries.
The Associated Press has reported, citing UN diplomats that Russia and China want all 13 officials of the "Islamic Emirate" to be allowed to travel to countries around the world. While the US and European countries are demanding the extension of the travel exemption for only 7 officials of the "Islamic Emirate" under the pretext of not respecting women's rights and not forming a comprehensive government in Afghanistan. These countries say that six more officials should be included in the sanctions list of the Security Council.

The United States proposed on Thursday to reimpose the travel ban on seven of them and to keep the exemption for the other six; but their trip should be limited only to Qatar; Where the United States and the Taliban negotiate.

Diplomats have said that Russia and China presented their counter proposal that all 13 Taliban officials be granted travel exemption for 90 days; but only go to Russia, China, Qatar and the countries of the region.

The dispute in the UN Security Council is not about how many officials of the "Islamic Emirate" should remain under sanctions or not; rather, the main basis of this difference is the degree of domination that the great powers want to have over Afghanistan.

If the "Islamic Emirate" or any other system in the world accepts the dominance of world-eating and arrogant powers, it will never be targeted for sanctions. To put it better, embargo is one of the effective tactics in the service of the domination system to make the countries obedient and listen to its command.

America, which is at the head of this program, has always shown in similar cases that when its strategic interests are guaranteed, it gets along with even the most notorious regimes, supports them, and never at the request of other countries and based on explicit provisions. International laws, including the United Nations Charter, international human rights conventions, etc., do not allow sanctions or even restrictions on their leaders.

A clear example in this context is America's dealings with authoritarian Arab regimes; Where America imposes its arrogant rule on the region, plunders the oil resources of the Arab countries, and on the other hand, by selling billions of war weapons and military equipment to these countries, it earns a lot of profit and turns the region into a powder store. It has become that day by day it is drowning in the deadly mire of arms races and bloody hostilities.

There, the most explicit principles of human rights are deliberately suspended with the implicit or explicit support of the United States, and the bloodthirsty and authoritarian leaders who dismember and exterminate even critical journalists enjoy immunity and are never sanctioned.

Therefore, the real reason for the disagreement between the superpowers who are permanent members of the United Nations Security Council about sanctioning or not sanctioning the Taliban leaders is to put pressure on the current leaders of Kabul to submit to the arrogant demands of the superpowers and accept the colonial rule of a power that they previously They defeated the military struggle with humiliation and forced to leave their country.

In the meantime, the United Nations, contrary to its name, is never an authoritative global authority independent of the will of its constituent superpowers; rather, it is an organization in the service of the domination system. Over the years, the Security Council of this organization has always been a powerful lever in the hands of arrogant and colonial powers to impose their extra-legal rule on oppressed nations and independent countries, and in the meantime, sanctions, threats and aggression against the target countries, if necessary, from It is legislated and prescribed by the UN Security Council; However, if such a platform is not provided due to the differences or conflicts of interests of the permanent member powers of this organization, such as the military occupation of Iraq by the United States in 2003, even the most obvious rules and competencies of this organization will be ignored, and the superpowers, at their own discretion, They try to activate one of these levers against the target country.

With this account, the pressures that are now flowing through the United Nations on Afghanistan will continue until the "Islamic Emirate" continues to insist on independence and not submitting to the will of the great powers; But if the leaders of the current system give up a part of the country's independence, accept foreign domination and give concessions to arrogant superpowers, the volume of these pressures will also decrease.
