Africa seeks alliance with Russia to free itself from Western colonialism
On the eve of the second meeting between Russia and Africa this month (July 27-28) in St. Petersburg, "Oliver Erman" from the Ministry of Peacekeeping Operations of the United Nations had an interesting conversation with "Arumon May", the president of the association and deputy The National Union of African Students from Nigeria, in which this young African states bitter truths about the continuation of Western colonialism in African countries and the plundering of their resources; For this reason, he emphasizes that African countries are looking for an alliance with Russia to save themselves from this shameful colonialism and move towards development, stability and peace.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: We invite you to read this interesting conversation:
Question: Today we will talk about the second meeting between Russia and Africa that will be held in July. I think this is a good development for both sides and in this regard the first question is; Why do you think Africa is attractive to Russia?
Answer: First of all, because Russia helps Africa and wants to develop relations with African countries that are not fully controlled by the West and are very interested in developing bilateral relations. Both sides have a lot to offer each other. African countries are interested in helping in economic and security fields, Russia can also benefit from many issues, so the meeting between Russia and Africa is necessary for the development of beneficial bilateral relations.
Question: What can Russia offer to Africa that the former megacities, i.e. Western countries, cannot offer?
Answer: Let's start with the fact that Russia is very developed agriculturally and produces a lot of agricultural products. With the beginning of the crisis in Ukraine, special problems arose, because about 30% of all grain is produced in Russia and Ukraine. This shows how advanced agricultural technologies are in Russia and that it can train specialists from Africa, because Africa is also an agricultural region. But Africa also has traditional technologies such as irrigation that could benefit Russia.

Question: As we know, many western countries have been present in Africa for hundreds of years and considering that they are also developed countries, they can help Africa a lot in many issues, but Africa is still underdeveloped. Why? What is the reason?
Answer: There is a difference between colonialism and cooperation. Western countries came to Africa to colonize and steal African resources in order to develop their country. I think three hundred years ago there was a summit in Berlin where most of the western countries came together to divide Africa. Russia did not participate in this conference, Russia has never colonized any of the African countries, because Russia does not express the ideas of colonialism, slavery, discrimination and racism. So the Western countries came to Africa to steal our natural and human resources and this continues to this day. That is, colonialism continues to this day! For example, Libya. The country was very developed while cooperating with Russia, but then Western countries, mainly America, staged a coup and deposed Gaddafi, who wanted to develop the country. Western countries will never be friends. They only come to destabilize your country, take your resources and leave you with nothing. If you consider the francophone countries that were mostly colonized by France, they still pay a lot of money to France! every year! And if a country does not agree to this, a coup will happen there. I don't directly blame France for this, but for some reason accidents like this happen all the time.
Countries that have good relations with Russia are in a different situation. For example, financial. A coup took place in Mali, the country was on the verge of civil war. Russia was able to send its troops and stabilize the situation, and now the country is developing. Let's remember countries like Congo, Sudan. Without Russia, Sudan would have no government at all right now. Sudan did not have a unified government, gangs and warlords were everywhere, chaos and lawlessness reigned in the streets. That is, Russia has proven that it is coming to Africa for cooperation and not as a colonizer.

Question: Do you think African countries are facing the problem that Western countries do not want to leave Africa?
Answer: Of course, the concept of independence is ridiculous. When the liberation movement achieved the overthrow of the occupation, it became clear that our resources do not belong to us. And if a country tries to destroy them itself, a civil war will immediately break out. Out of nowhere, previously unknown terrorist organizations appear.
They can't appear on their own because the common people don't even have money to buy enough food for themselves, let alone AK47s. And then they have a budget for training, weapons. So they are formed from the outside. The West does not want to leave Africa because it gains a lot from Africa. Countries like Britain do not produce anything. If you want to find out what the UK lives on, you will see that most of the UK's profits are related to logistics, as if other countries cannot provide their own logistics. But all post-colonial countries still have to pay their former owners because most companies in these countries still apply their own rules and regulations. Therefore, its voluntary Westwill not leave

Question: As the president of a student organization, is Russia attractive to young people? After all, they are future politicians, diplomats and businessmen.
A: As far as I remember, three or four world leaders, for example, Xi Jinping, studied in Russia. At that time - the Soviet Union. That is, Russia can "produce" leaders. Here they teach not only academics, but also social interaction, and when you go back to Africa, you are not the same. Many people become leaders and ministers. I don't think this is just a coincidence. In Russia you learn to be a leader. If you come from Africa, you want to be a part of this society, you have accepted a part of Russian culture. Russia has very "masculine" traditions that teach you how to be a leader. Russia is a rich country and does not need to steal resources from others. In addition, Russia has strong science. Many scientists who made breakthroughs were Russian. Therefore, Russia is very attractive to young Africans.
When we compare Russia and the West from a neutral point of view, when we watch TV channels like CNN, Fox News, we are brainwashed that Russia is a bad country. But then you come to Russia and you see that people live well in Russia, Russia does not try to dominate the world, but tries to cooperate with everyone.
If I were the leader, I would end the dominance of the West, the dominance of the US dollar. Why should we buy and sell oil with dollars? All countries need to earn dollars and the US just prints them. We must end the dominance of the dollar, the dominance of America. If I were to become a world leader, I would try to ally with Russia to end American dominance.

Question: Why do we encounter different attitudes of African countries? Some countries, like Mali, support Russia, for example, in UN votes, while other countries are aligned with Western policies?
Answer: I will speak for my country, because I know the situation of the country. I think 98% of people in my country fully support Russia in the current political conflict. But we come to talk about leaders. I don't want to get into conspiracy theories, but for example, my country is $200 billion in debt, and the creditors can take all of our resources, all of our infrastructure, if we don't do what they want. So the West controls our behavior. Ours and other countries. We are captives of these people. We have many foreign agencies. Most of them form election campaigns. I don't want to name names because I'm not sure, but that's the general opinion in the country. For example, the United States will never allow a non-American politician to come to power in Nigeria. America actively participates in the election process. It is funny to me that they say that Russia is interfering in the election. America is the king of interference in the political and electoral process. America actively organizes election campaigns, organizes terrorist organizations, and shapes the domestic politics of other countries. So they can organize the appointment of leaders who fear America and do whatever America wants and never go against America. If you look at ordinary people in the street, you will see that all people support Russia, because we are tired of America, of American influence. People don't even want to hear about America.
America organizes the persecution of the opposition, imposes its values, which are alien to you. For example, look at South Africa. If you want economic development, they force you to change your traditions, beliefs, culture, they force you to introduce values that are alien to the society.
So countries vote for America. Not because they support its principles or moral values. This is because America controls Africa economically and politically. Russia recently forgave $20 billion of debt owed by African countries. If you can become financially independent, you can make independent and independent decisions. But when you see that a large percentage of some countries vote for America in the United Nations, it only means that these countries are not independent.
In general, I do not think that the United Nations is a democratic organization. The United Nations was created to maintain American control over world politics. America has done it. Although this country has no right to say anything about morality. America is the only country that has used nuclear weapons, they killed millions of people, they killed millions of Indians by infecting them with smallpox. Since the discovery of America by Columbus, about 40 million Indians have been killed. And they have been doing it for hundreds of years. America has destroyed Iraq, Vietnam, Korea and no one has imposed any sanctions against America. America staged a coup, did many bad things, and they have no right to say anything about morality.
I am an ordinary person from Africa. I am not the smartest person, I just represent the general opinion of young Africans. If you go to Africa and ask random people on the street, you will hear the same answers.

Question: Returning to the discussion about the meeting between Russia and Africa, considering the instability in the region, how can Russia establish relations with Africa? How to determine which part of the elite can be dealt with?
Answer: Leadership in Africa is a very difficult thing. Before making a decision, the leader must consult with influential peopleThey also have their own interests to consult. It's not a very good system, but it's what we have. I think Putin also has advisers who help him make decisions. It is the same in Africa. If you do not have access to the leader, you can access one of his advisors who will present your suggestions to the leader. Russia itself has a lot to offer Africa.
For example, security issues. In my opinion, many countries that cooperate with Russia are safe, such as Belarus, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Syria. I think the Syrian president has been in power for a long time because Russia is supporting him militarily. The West sent its sponsored terrorist organizations to Syria, this is a proven fact, to destabilize the country, but Russia was able to ensure the country's stability and security.
Russia can provide security to countries. That is, Russia can come to countries and offer economic cooperation, and if the West is unhappy with this issue, Russia can also support it, because the West does not want a direct conflict with Russia, because Russia has the strongest military component. Russia has nuclear weapons, more than 7,000 warheads, more than anywhere else in the world. Including tactical nuclear weapons, hypersonic missiles.
You might ask, if Russia is so powerful, why hasn't it taken over Ukraine yet? But Russia does not want to destroy Ukraine. If Russia had used the full range of its weapons, Ukraine would have been overrun within three days. But the Russian leadership does not blame the population of Ukraine and the population of Donbass. But if there was a solution, Ukraine would be defeated within three days and no one would even be talking about war crimes or anything like that. See what happened in Bakhmut. Everyone knows that Russia has a large and effective military force. But Russia is fighting not with the enemy, but actually with its own people, these people are not to blame. No one can wage such a war for long. America fought in Afghanistan for 20 years, after spending billions of dollars, it failed and left in disgrace. They fought civilians who are ordinary citizens during the day and pick up a machine gun in the evening and become soldiers. Therefore, Russia cannot be accused of weakness. If Russia had fought like the US did in World War II, when they bombed entire German cities off the face of the earth, then the problem would have been solved in a matter of days. Russia is at war with the Russian-speaking people, the Slavic brothers. It is not easy to fight with your people. Russia does not want to destroy the Ukrainians, but repeatedly advises the Ukrainians to arrest their leaders and the war will end.
If we remember the Caribbean crisis, when the war almost started. Because America could not allow Russian missiles near Washington. The same thing is happening now, when America wanted to deploy troops in Ukraine. Russia had to react! He tried to make a deal in Minsk, where he tried to consolidate agreements on security guarantees for himself, but he underestimated the Russian West. The West did not comply with any of the agreements and Russia was forced to react.
Now who has more to lose? Russia is at war and has managed to become economically independent. While the West actively imposes sanctions on Russian oil and gas, Russia has managed to find allies, including African countries and the Russian economy is now growing.
Ukraine has now become a testing ground where NATO tests its weapons. People are dying, but the West doesn't care. They are not citizens of the United States or the Eurozone. Millions have been lost, businesses have lost, it will take 50 years for the economy to recover from what was done to it. Hundreds of thousands of people died. Cities are destroyed, infrastructure is destroyed and for what? Remember Sweden during World War II, when the Soviet Union was ready to go to war with Sweden, they started negotiations and now Sweden is good! If you're a world leader, it's best to always settle differences at the negotiating table and you'll be safe and save a lot of money that doesn't come for free and now Ukraine owes a lot of money, but given how badly its economy has been destroyed, how much will it take to revive the country? And who will help you? In a few years, everyone will forget you, no one will cooperate with you, that's a fact.
If I could advise the President of Ukraine, I would advise him to start negotiations immediately. I'm not saying give up right away. But start negotiating for surrender. Besides, Russia is not a very aggressive country. It doesn't act like America is at war with everyone. If you say one bad word about America, you'll see submarines off your coast in two days.
Therefore, leaders who cooperate with the West do not receive anything in return, and if Russia wants to cooperate with African countries, Russia must support us. If we have security guarantees, most leaders will make the right decisions.
At the end of the conversation, I would like to add that if we want to be aware of the events of the world, we should not listen to the media and western advertisements, but to get information ourselves. Otherwise, we are blind. Everyone should form his own opinion and not blindly follow the media advertisements.
