Asif claims Pakistan cannot take responsibility for Afghanistan’s peace and security
The foreign minister of Pakistan Khwajah Asif has claimed that Pakistan cannot take responsibility for the peace and security of Afghanistan as he levied new accusations against Afghanistan and India for supporting terrorism.

AVA- Asif made the remarks during a seminar in New York and also slammed the United States for the military approach to end the Afghan war, saying Washington cannot succeed in Afghanistan by waging war.

He rejected that Pakistan provides safe havens to the terror groups and said it was Afghanistan and India that supports terrorism, claiming that ۶۶ terror groups exist in India and that the country uses the Afghan soil for the attacks in Pakistan.

The remarks by Asif came as Islamabad is under growing pressure since the United States announced its new policy for Afghanistan and South Asia with President Donald Trump strongly criticizing Pakistan for harboring and sheltering terror groups.

“For its part, Pakistan often gives safe haven to agents of chaos, violence, and terror. The threat is worse because Pakistan and India are two nuclear-armed states whose tense relations threaten to spiral into conflict. And that could happen,” President Trump said while announcing the new policy last month.

The Afghan and US officials are saying that the conflict in the country has links with the sanctuaries of the terrorist groups, particularly the Taliban and Haqqani network which have remained intact in the key cities of Pakistan.
