UAE to host major conference on Afghanistan

The conference will discuss support to projects in Afghanistan through Abu Dhabi Fund for Development, investment, marketing and employment, said Shah Hussain Murtazawi, acting spokesman for Afghan president.

“It is an important opportunity which shows that UAE pays attention to Afghanistan,” Murtazawi said at a press conference in Kabul.

He said that the conference was agreed during the visit of the president to UAE last month.

Afghanistan, Uzbekistan to sign agreements during Ghani’s visit

Speaking at the conference, Murtazawi also said that Ghani would leave Kabul for Uzbekistan later in the day for an official visit, following an invitation from Tashkent.

Bilateral agreements on security, transit, economy, trade, higher education, energy, agriculture and legal assistance will be signed during the visit, he said.on, Afghan presidency said Monday.
