Afghan forces fully cleared Marjah district of Taliban militants: MoD
Afghan security forces have fully cleared Marjah district in southern Helmand province of Taliban militants after four years, the country's defense ministry said on Saturday.

The achievement was made following a two-week operation that killed 37 militants including their commander Abdul Bari. Dozens of other militants were wounded, MoD said in a statement.
As many as 103 mines planted by the militants along roads were defused during the operation, it said.
Two explosives depots and six command centers of the Taliban were destroyed, the statement said.
In a separate statement, MoD said on Sunday that nine Taliban militants including a commander were killed in counterattack in western Farah province last night.
Six other insurgents were wounded after they attacked a security forces checkpoints in Juwain district, the statement said.
